Today at Buckingham Palace, His Majesty King Charles III received Prime Minister Philip ‘Brave’ Davis. Prime Minister Davis conveyed his condolences to The Royal Family while expressing his good wishes to His Majesty The King.

A very costly one minute photo op compliments of Bahamian taxpayers. No sooner had Davis sat down than he had to stand up again and make room for the next country leader being walked into the room for the same kind of one minute photo op with Charles. LMAO

At least he ain't making us shame like the last PM. Mr. Davis not only knows how to speak the Queen's English, but also knows how to conduct himself and knows what to say. He and his wife are always "ready for Prime Time". Some people just make you proud to be Bahamian, period!!

I guess Brave must save this particular skill for Kings and Queens since his speechifying round these parts reflects such a coarse mode. Tho I’ll not argue that himself and his Mrs do always seem ready to take their best shot!!

Let us watch and see what the King does. He may surprise us (and all the other Commonwealth nations) by appointing new Governor Generals and taking the bull by the horns and actually fixing stuff. I have every confidence that in the next few years, (then) King William will continue the repair process.
Otherwise, then I would have to agree with those who say that there is no use for the Monarchy. Many in England want to get rid of the Monarchy (and I don't blame them for having that view) - but of course that is simply because they have not seen any positives. That may very well be about to change. The King said in his first public speech "My life is about to change". Hopefully our lives along with his.

We are very proud of our history in The Bahamas and our Constitutional Monarchy form of government. Its stability and democratic framework has served us well over the years. King Charles met only five Commonwealth Realm leaders on Saturday -his Prime Ministers of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and The Bahamas. This is a tribute to the high esteem in which our country is held by the King. Their discussions went on for some time and it was not just an in and out photo op. Let's be positive and welcome our new King. He is seriously minded and interested in helping the Commonwealth countries and has been well trained by our late Queen Elizabeth.

Be careful about cherry picking news. Yes, Charles III did meet with these five leaders on Saturday, but he met with more leaders of the Commonwealth Realm, including prime ministers Gaston Browne (Antigua and Barbuda), Kausea Natano (Tuvalu) and James Marape (Papua New Guinea) on Sunday. Note, too, that, of the 56 members of the Commonwealth of Nations, only a quarter (including the UK) are still part of the Commonwealth Realm -- countries that recognize the British monarch as Head of State. So it makes sense that he would meet with these leaders.

Prince Charles was here for our Independence in 1973 … and God willing he will be here as King for our 50th … and in the meantime we won’t insult him and England by talking nonsense about becoming a Republic, but instead recognize the positives of the special relationship we enjoy as a result of our historical connection with England.
