Prime Minister Perry Christie arrives at the House of Assembly as the protest goes on at Rawson Square.
Citizens for Justice, a group formed by Bishop Walter Hanchell, and Citizens for Equal Opportunity, formed by talk show host Darold Miller and activist Celi Moss, led a demonstration at Rawson Square for 'equal rights for Bahamians'.
10.45am: FNM Deputy Leader Loretta Butler-Turner spoke to the protesters as she arrived at the House, telling them she supported them and they should 'hold the government's feet to the fire.
10.00am: The crowd sang the national anthem followed by a rendition of 'Independence Morning'. Darold Miller took the mic to rally supporters, saying the protest was for 'them and their children'.
9.45am: An estimated 150 people were in Rawson Square this morning to protest for equal rights for Bahamians.

Because of this walk/march and the possibly violent and unruly behavior ON Bay Street, the cruise ships are advising their passengers to STAY ON BOARD THE SHIP TODAY WHILE IN NASSAU!
There will be lots of FREE FUN AND SAFE activities on board for them to do. Not to mention that the Chinese Flee market stuff sold on Bay Street and the jewelry can be purchased in the NEXT SAFE PORT!!! People need to realize that every time they march on Parliament and Rawson square out Tourists see it, film it, uTube it and put it on facebook.
All we need is something stupid to happen, either by someone who is demonstrating or by the police and it goes World Wide Web!

Jackflash didn't mention tht the tourist who remain on the ship can also gamble..and if Bahamians are on the ship they can also gamble! And that is what this is also about. Bahamians are being hoodwinked and bamboozled...and he seems to be in favour of being sold out.. Elections shoulda been today!!!

NO and i will not post a anything in favour of anyone who comes to this country with the intention of manipulating this Bahamian government and taking what is rightfully belonging to the Bahaimin citizenry. You are wrong.
All cruise ship casions and slots are closed while in port by law, including when they are anchored or adrift one of our Bahamain island stops.
Shops are also closed by law.
Food and activities are all all open.

The new law will allw them to gamble anywhere within the confines of Atlantis or Bah Mar in Nassau, or the confines of casinos in Freeport, Binimi or here ever in the Bahamas..prove me wrong! this means that tourists can gamble a n y w h e r e in the Bahamas while Bahamians cannot. So will da the last Bahamian to leave the Bahamas please bring the flag!!!

Sir Milo's bust is about to tumble over from all Darold's rebuking in the name of God, that is now blowing over he head?
The biggest rebuke is how this "protest" was to "march" across the Sidney Poitier Bridge? Who was it that put the fair of God into Darold, not to even mention Paradise Island at his protest/march/walk?
No damn wonder this, or whatever it's now being billed as, lacks any meaningful focus? Haven't we just recently seen some of the same Preacherman's and other players protesting in the media?
Why is it that back then not a whisper out their mouths about the City Meat Market workers not getting paid they monies? I can see why the crowd was small yesterday and is small again this Wednesday morning. It may have something to do with "suspicion?" Maybe has something to do about where or who ya hearts really care about?
Even the Guardian's radio news is still calling this a "protest" against the government's licensing of casino's internet gambling. Not some pretend "walk" for the every day issues facing so many Bahamians, who are really struggling and need paycheques. Yes, black and white Bahamians are struggling.

Scary when the "walk' message is telling black Bahamians, it's best if they just pack up and leave Nassau Town, cause the whitey men's and foreigners done own it and there's nothing left for them? To leave Nassau Town and head to the Islands to stake out their claim for Crown lands?
I would really have preferred to hear a more positive message, encouraging Bahamaland's sitting government to promote economic growth for all of Bahamaland, by becoming a visible force behind "Free Enterprise," not more government tax payers jobs, thus creating family sustaining paycheck opportunities, not using Crown lands as just another social assistance program?
I can tell you this. Comrade Milo never relied upon no government's social assistance? You may be standing next to Sir Milo's bust but he never told Bahamians to give up on their Nassau Town? He looked around and he worked to uplift the paychecks of the whitey, as much as any black?
This my Comrades is the only equal opportunity Bahamaland we all had better be as prepared and willing to work at, while being as colour blind as our Milo? What a remarkable Bahamian, with the best life story any country can so proudly call ... one of their own. May God Bless the Butler Family.

We should very seriously examine the Bermuda example as they had the same 40 year PLP & UBP corrupt stupidity.
Bermuda resolved the problem by forming a 3rd party (OBA) "One Bermuda Alliance" which won the government December 2012 and IMMEDIATELY made sweeping changes to the benefit of the majority, not just the chosen few.
