TWO Atlantis Resort employees are under investigation after allegedly breaking into the hotel suite of hip-hop artist Rick Ross and taking “selfies” of themselves adorned in the rapper’s jewellery worth thousands of dollars.
The men, who work at The Cove, were caught as they took the portraits of themselves while in the suite by hotel security, sources confirmed to The Tribune yesterday.
Upon making the discovery it is reported that both employees were searched and made to delete the pictures from their smart phones. Officials, sources said, did not find evidence that merchandise was stolen.
It is unclear whether both employees have been terminated over the incident, which is in breach of Atlantis’ policies and procedures.
However, yesterday Ed Fields, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, confirmed that an investigation was underway but refused to give details.
He said: “I wouldn’t be in the position to comment on the alleged incident because it is something under investigation.”
Central Detective Unit (CDU) chief Paul Rolle said authorities did not receive reports of an incident.
Rick Ross, the founder of record label Maybach Music Group (MMG), is the recording artist behind several chart topping hits, including “BMF” “Hustlin” and “You know I got it”. He performed with fellow MMG rapper Meek Mill at Club Luna last Thursday at a concert to kick off the holiday weekend.
The label is also home to artists such as Wale, French Montana, Omarion and Gunplay among others.

If Bahamians would put half this sort of effort into bettering themselves and just being decent human beings, we would be so ahead as a country. What were they thinking doing this ?
Instead, many people, both young and old , live their lives on this ridiculous entitlement fantasy , lying, tiefin and trying to keep up with the jonses. Bahamians have so much potential as a people and we live in a beautiful country, but we are throwing it all away for materialism, greed and no good ways.

Exactly...something is so fundamentally wrong with the way young men and women think today..I take that back, it's not just the young, all for me seems like its everywhere..and now we want to give them marijuana so they have less of a reason to think....it's so sad that we have an administration who's sole purpose appears to be enriching themselves while the country goes to hell (figuratively)

What's the fuss, ain't nothing got's stolen or even broken, right? Ain't like they wake up to go to work to steal hotel guests belongings. Comrades this sounds more to me like an internal, alleged case of being a “bit too employee adventurous” entry without authority, not break and enter. Let’s give them credit for not rushing to make their exit, when only in we Bahamaland, would you enter into a man's hotel room and then "take ya's sweet time, tak'in slefies, cause you ain't wants brings no undo harm or damages to the hotel guest expensive jewelry. They did after all, respect he stuff using they hotel employee training to exercise due care in the handling of he fine jewelery.

Tal you must be stupid. Let someone enter into your hotel room and get caught with your jewelry. When they say we were only dusting it I hope you let them off the hook. All this only shows our tourist is that Bahamians will go into your hotel room and go through your things.
