Did you notice the deadly silence from all 21-Cabinet Ministers when EXIM China acted in their best interests?
Quiet as church mice, when days previous on any issue they were holding press conference after press conference – dragging personalities into obvious political photo-ops.
Kudos to EXIM China – they should have done this back in July when Izmerlian took the project to Delaware on his Chapter 11 red-herring.
This is not to say the propagandist of that government media station were not busy – opening comment after mentioning Receivership they induced the false hope that EXIM will immediately commit $600 million to commence the completion works. Then the comment on SLS and SBL – the merger talks between them and Morgan’s Hotel Group have been going on for months.
SLS hotel, which PM was at for their opening, has been bleeding at a rate of $40m+ a quarter - SLS sold out. How on earth does the rumour that Hyatt might be bidding for Starwood Hotel group infer that Starwood will return to Baha Mar? Remember Starwood and their hotel franchises were part of the defunct Harrah’s - Izmerlian project? One of the numerous bad decisions which this government and the previous one supported.
Finally the bluff game is over. As a good Baptist would cry - Alleluia!
Boy ZNS is good, you have to give it to them, they will spin a top off the table and back on it in a second and balance the top on the end of a pin. This project needs $600m to be completed - probably a further $200m for floating the opening and having capital available, so you are talking a whopping further $1 billion in round figures - surely it is time we got a little smart. This is not going to clear up in a few hours and a long speech with long words of some politicians.
Kudos EXIM China - best decision in the past eight months. Boy didn’t it shut the government up. Twenty-one speechless politicians, a rare, rare occurrence.

This 'article' wins Most Ignorant Post of the Week. Blaming everyone but Izzy for the mess he and former PM Ingraham created. Not giving the current administration credit for protecting the interests of the State, and omitting the fact that the official opposition and supporting fnm cast remains silent on the fact that the EXIM Bank of China is exercising its rights under the agreement signed by an ill-advised amateur wanna-be hotelier. The fact of the matter is that this administration was correct in the position it took in the matter from day one but no, the usual suspects including WT will never give them credit (aka kudos) where it is rightly due. Shame on you, WT, and anyone else who continues to lie about the facts.

Where were you when dat Jokey Demented Christie, dat ugly Wicked Witch Maynard-Gibson, dat Bag Man Baltron Bethel, etc. were all ranting and raving 'bout da need for dem to protect us Bahamian people sovereignty?
