THE winter rains are exacting a terrible toll on the roads of New Providence, with large potholes in the road appearing daily and causing problems for motorists.
Reports of blown tyres and headlights popping out have been prevalent in recent weeks as the craters and cavities - often submerged by the heavy rains and floods and therefore invisible - have caught unsuspecting drivers and damaged their cars.
Two large potholes that had opened up on the Eastern Road near Winton were repaired yesterday but many remain. Motorists are forced to swerve around the waterlogged areas for fear of falling into one.

Can The Tribune PLEASE try to get some clarification from whoever manages the traffic lights as to whether they intend to fix this light BEFORE someone is seriously injured ?

If you ride on West Bay Street by Gambier, not only is the road in very poor condition, but all the guard rails have fallen into heaps of rust from the sale water spray. These rails are less than 5 years old and needs to be replaces by rubber coated or stronger galvanized that can withstand the salt.
