US deports 23 Bahamians

TWENTY three Bahamians were deported from the United States this week under new American Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) procedures.

In a statement released by Bahamas Information Services, the government acknowledged their arrival on a flight late on Thursday. The deportations follow the end of an injunction filed in a federal district court which had prevented them.

As the Bahamians had committed no crime in The Bahamas, they are free to return to normal life.

Bahamas Consul General Paulette Zonicle, who is responsible for these matters, accompanied the flight as mandated.

You replied to my comments with the following: "Why wait in others such as the Christian Council? Get off your arse and start the movement yourself if you feel so strongly about it"

From your reply i can see that you are a part of the problem and that you have nothing to offer as far as resolving social problems in our nation. Your questioning my freedom of speech tells me that you too are complacent with the status quo. But since your username denotes FACTS, I see it fitting to list a few FACTS for you.

  1. I am a private citizen-Therefore, I can bitch and complain as much as I like about anything or anyone in this suppose to be democratic country.

  2. The Christian Council's mandate is to uphold the moral fabric of the Bahamas. That is their mandate, not mine. They are the ones who operate these lofty "houses of the Lord" that are supposed to be a place of refuge for lost souls. Their members are the ones who receive concessions and other goodies from the government,, based on the promise of them being an organization that helps with the betterment of society. All of the other civic groups are also duty bound to speak out against anything that is contrary in our country. That's the whole purpose of forming such an organization. While I belong to a voluntary group, it has nothing to do with any of the above problems. So I guess you are the one who needs to get off your lazy bum and do your research before mouthing off to something which you clearly have no knowledge.

ICE Mission Statement: To identify, arrest, and remove aliens who present a danger to national security or are a risk to public safety, as well as those who enter the United States illegally or otherwise undermine the integrity of our immigration laws and our border control efforts. Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) upholds America's immigration laws at, within and beyond our borders through efficient enforcement and removal operations.

safe to say they probably have an immigration charge from the bahamas for leaving illegally and a charge in the US for entering illegally

Time for the Bahamas to follow this example. Export all those foreigner who are creating political mischief, denying Bahamians their rights to beaches and those involved in violent crimes especially and car theft and arson and the destruction of government property. Unfortunately the gover of the Bahamas does not have the power and political clout to force countries to take their criminal and meddling citizens back.
