Dr Sands, the country needs you

EDITOR, The Tribune.

The back and forth between Minister of Health, Dr. Duane Sands and PLP Chairman Mr.Bradley Roberts has exposed one glaring fact. It shows that Dr. Sands did not follow his many friends advice to not put the country at risk and remain in a profession that is more important to people than him being a member of parliament.

Dr. Sands knows full well that his many patients and potential patients need him. The recent relegation said just that. But the stark reality is he is not just an ordinary General Practitioner, he is a Heart Surgeon. Now how many heart surgeries do we have.

The heart is one of the most important parts of the body, with it not functioning properly, it puts the patients under great duress. But Dr. Sands selfishly decided to listen to those who are directing him, rather than listen to his conscience.

This has nothing to do with politics at all. It has everything to do with the perseveration of human life.

Dr. Sands is the best at what he does. I would love for Dr. Sands to be available if anything should happen to me or my loved ones. So we must not get carried away, he is ill served as a member of parliament, no matter what side he is on.

Come on Dr. Sands, we need you more and you can make a greater contribution to the Bahamas as a heart surgeon rather than a member of parliament.

We are so anxious to decapitate everyone for offering an opinion, just look at the reasoning, when your heart starts to flutter, who would you like to be there for you.

Think on these things.

Laser focused.

I have a concern regarding so many young Bahamian, men and women dying at such early age. Do you have capable or qualified doctors? Are doctors monitoring people's cholesterol, blood sugar level? Diabetes is one of the number one killers in the United States.

It is also the responsibility of each person to monitor their food intake. Exercise is a must. Stop eating so much fast food.

Doctors should educate patients regarding health issues plaguing the Bahamas.

Lastly, don't put all your faith in doctor's, prayer is a powerful tool.
