Calling all DNAs to come home

EDITOR, The Tribune.

THIS letter is an appeal to all DNA supporters to come back home to the FNM! It is the only way we will ever be able to take this country back from the hands of the PLP.

I sat down last night and seriously thought about what happened in the last election, and then I tried my best to figure out what will happen in the next election. Let's be real guys. If you continue to be a spoiler, this country is forever doomed.

Based on everything that I could surmise, Branville McCartney is an FNM who had a problem with Hubert Alexander Ingraham. In my opinion, the reason he had the problem with Mr. Ingraham is because he is just like him. I believe if both of them were to do an Enneagram personality test, they would both be type 8, or "Challengers." They are "The powerful, dominating type: self-confident, secisive, wilful, and confrontational."

A double eight combination of personality types is extremely volatile, with lots of ego on display, frequent tests of wills and more or less open jockeying for control. They can get into competitions and rivalries because real equality and sharing is difficult for them. Issues about being (and staying) in control would likely be the centre of many conflicts, especially since they usually do not want to back down or be seen as weak in any way. Both will therefore struggle to dominate, at least in some area, making for a highly reactive and conflict-ridden relationship. Out of interest, persons who share their personality type are Fidel Castro, Saddham Hussein, and John McCain, but so did Martin Luther King, Jr, and Franklin Roosevelt.

To Mr Branville McCartney, I say Hubert Alexander Ingraham has now stepped aside. Had you displayed more patience and hung in there, I have no doubt that you would be today, the leader of the Free National Movement. However, it was clearly not meant to be. The powers that be, moved you and everyone else who could have possibly stood in the way of Dr Hubert Alexander Minnis being leader. It was handed to him on a silver platter, just the way God intended.

The FNM now has a level-headed leader who is committed, reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy, ambitious, competent, and energetic. He is an excellent "troubleshooter" who can foresee problems and foster cooperation. He is internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing himself and others. Frankly, I believe Dr Minnis and Branville would have made a great team, with Branville as deputy.

Of course anything can happen between now and 2017, but anyone who is honest, will admit that it is highly unlikely that Mr McCartney will muster up enough support to win the 2017 election. The mentality of Branville McCartney and his supporters are pretty much that of the FNM. While we FNM's support and contribute to the welfare of the under-privileged, we believe in teaching a man to fish, rather than giving him handouts and keeping him poor, dumb and ignorant. The average PLP is not going to vote FNM or DNA so they will continue to have the majority of support. Unless we ban together, they will take us out every time.

So Mr McCartney and Dr Minnis, can we please put all egos and aside, and humble ourselves to somehow work out a solution to get the two parties back together? DNA supporters, if you really want to do this country a favour, please come back home to the FNM. Let's take this country back in 2017! Otherwise, we don't stand a chance.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!! In the FNM "we believe in teaching a man to fish, rather than giving him handouts and keeping him poor, dumb and ignorant"!!!!!! AMEN, AMEN AMEN!!!!!

And we must keep this flame alive, just remember FNM's that the margins were close and almost 15,000 of us stayed at home. Keep that fire burning and let PLP's know that we are NOT SCARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We cannot allow ignorance to run AND inevitably RUIN such a beautiful country.

I AM A STRONG FNM SUPPORTER AND I DISAGREE WITH THIS ARTICLE. FOR MCCARTNEY TO COME BACK HE WOULD WANT TO LEAD. IF HE LEAD I WOULD NOT VOTE. MCCARTNEY NEED TO LEARN HUMILITY AND LEARN HOW WORK AS A TEAM, ITS ALL ABOUT HIM.

i suspect that mcartney may have been an operative for powerful business concearns, that had to get rid prime minister INGRAHAM.the share society where bahamians across the spectrum could oun shares in ouce forbidden areas of busines like the arawak port did not go well with the business elliet.the FNM would be wise to put mcartney behind us.like judas in the bible thirty pieces of silver ended his ambitions.for now the freedom fighters must remain couragous, steadfast and believi in ALMIGHTY GOD.after a glimse of the the promise land of true Free National Advance, the nation have gone back too Pharoh Last Plague to beg for crumbs leftover rather than fight. It has return to the sweet song of phoroh, promises of rward without work, ownership without loyalty and wealth without sacfrice.we d,not have to guess where this will lead to.so again the time is at hand and the task is greater than ever before, the FNM must begin now to ounce again lead lifting high the torch without compamise and or appoligy until our bahama land return to a bahama land where freedom, and wealth is gift giveg by ALMIGHTY GOD to all bahamians.
