'PM should deal with crime, not talk about FNM'

Charles Maynard

FNM chairman Charles Maynard said his party is "shocked" that Prime Minister Perry Christie is happy to spend time commenting on internal FNM matters when he should be dealing with the high levels of crime and unemployment facing the nation.

In a statement issued to the media yesterday, Mr Maynard said instead of speculating on what is happening in the FNM, Mr Christie and his Cabinet should be working on the urgent business of solving our economic and social problems.

His comments follow Mr Christie's claim that FNM leader Dr Hubert Minnis is having a hard time maintaining control of the opposition party.

Mr Maynard said: "Dr Hubert Minnis is the undisputed leader of our party having been unanimously elected in convention.

"While Christie is under pressure from his deputy 'Brave' Davis and the other contenders for leadership, Obie Wilchcombe and Jerome Fitzgerald, our leader enjoys the full support of all MPs and party officers.

"We note that on the day of the passing of a PLP stalwart councillor, it was Brave Davis who issued the statement of condolences and not Prime Minister Christie. Mr Davis' unbridled ambition to be leader of the PLP and prime minister is what Mr Christie should be concerned about and even the 1,500-plus stalwart councillors will not be able to save him from Brave Davis and his extensive party network.

"Prime Minister Christie would be well advised to stay out of the affairs of the FNM party, of which he is clueless," he said.

I blogged on the night Hubert "supposedly" resigned to go into excel in Cooper's Town, but not before burning down the red shirts party, that the “peep show” was about to begin.

How in the hell can the new Hubert Alexander be expected to build on the legacy of Comrade Sir Cecil from the political bomb remnants left behind by Hubert when there are such survivor "peep show" characters like Comrade Chairman Charlie "Pillsbury Doughboy?"

Comrade Sir Cecil couldn’t tolerate our school children being distracted in any way in the classrooms by looking out. Hubert wouldn’t tolerate questions and dissenting opinions from his cabinet, MP’s, or within or out of his red shirts regime. He sure as hell wouldn't tolerate the native's peeping in at what the cabinet was up to. Sorry, Hubert ya is no Comrade Sir Cecil and Comrade Charlie is all of your making.

To Charles Maynard: Pot. Kettle. Black. You all did the same thing for the time you were in. The PLP never left your leader's mouth. Come on now! There's 5 years of audio as evidence.

Additionally, you should be focusing on your home life instead of what PC has to say. Your wife and your side pieces. You want to run a country but your own life is a mess. PC home life is together. HA!

Man the things I have to say to him just keep coming to me. Maynard. PC is getting the country together (if they don't I won't be supporting them) and are lambasting you all at the same time. It's called multitasking!

The only thing PC concentrating on is enriching his cabinet - pay increases for no work done and stopping the employment programs because no money in the budget for those. We all suffer except the chosen few.
