Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC) officials have met with their Gladstone Road Industrial Park tenants to address both parties’ concerns.
The meeting, held at BAIC Headquarters on Monday, saw the corporation raise rental arrears owed to it by its tenants as well the practice of some businesses sub-leasing their properties without its permission. Overgrown properties and terrible road conditions were among the issues also discussed.
BAIC chairman, Bishop Gregory Collie, urged all tenants to bring their accounts current and to discontinue the practice of sub-leasing to ensure their leases are valid. He also called on them to form an association to ensure they are working together to improve both the Park and the success of their businesses.
The tenants agreed to work with BAIC to ensure all their concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
