A 32-year-old man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his six-year-old daughter in 2022 was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The defendant, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of the minor, was sentenced for one count of incest before Justice Dale Fitzpatrick.
He admitted to having unlawful sexual intercourse with his underage daughter in New Providence in March 2022.
Under the terms of his plea deal, time already spent on remand at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services will be deducted from his sentence.
Miranda Adderley represented the accused, while Gary Rolle III and Rasheid Edgecombe were the prosecutors.
