No Government in this country should be in any business which private enterprise can perform. Over the years the PLP and the FNM have used government corporations and agencies to feather the nest of their political cronies.
"I have a dream" that the day will come when.......
Bahamasair, BEC, Water & Sewerage and any other public corporation will be sold to the highest bidder because I firmly believe even if rates are increased it will cost The Bahamian Tax Payer less than we are now paying.

Mr. Christie keep your hands off BTC and let the professionals bring it into the 21st. century. There will be growing pains but they can deal with them better than you or Mr. Ingraham or anyone else.

I'm one who was against the selling of BTC, but whats done is done. Now if the government sees it necessary to be mixed up with a telephone company, why not invest some of the profit obtain from the sale in operating a smaller phone company targeting a specific (hard line or cell phone) customers. Doing this, competitive prices can be offered then gradually they can expand in the market where needed. For future competition to come, I'm sure they would do the same not try to just up and open at the large scale of BTC. New equiptment would be used so the hassel of upgrading old ones would not be a factor. One never sell a product to buy it back.

This deal should simply be cancelled lest it serves as confirmation to the investing world that we are a corrupt, Banana republic where not only the private but the pblic sector is bereft of common sense or ethics.
BTC was already managed by professionals.Thats why they were so wildly succssful and pofitable. Thats why they were successful in upgrading technology, we now see better than the foreigners.
