THE Free National Movement stands in solidarity with Long Island MP Adrian Gibson, party leader Michael Pintard said yesterday, adding the organisation was of the view that the parliamentarian was innocent until proven guilty.

Mr Pintard released a press statement following Mr Gibson facing 56 counts on allegations that he did not declare his interest in contracts awarded by the corporation.

While he was granted $150,000 bail, The Tribune was told Mr Gibson was remanded as bail was not posted.

“It has come to the attention of the Free National Movement that charges have been brought today against a number of individuals in the Magistrate’s Court,” Mr Pintard said in a statement. “Among those reportedly charged is Free National Movement Member of Parliament for Long Island Mr Adrian Gibson.

“Given the sensitivity of the matter, I will limit my comments to the following: Mr Gibson is first and foremost a member in good standing with the Free National Movement and is also an active and important member of our parliamentary caucus.

“We in the Free National Movement stand in solidarity with Mr Gibson and believe that according to the laws of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas he is innocent until proven guilty and that he is entitled to due process and a fair trial.

“The FNM will therefore work to ensure that Mr Gibson’s rights are observed and not abused and we remain resolute in our position that at the end of this process, justice and truth shall prevail.”

Then why would Red Party's high net wealth colleagues allow their elected Out Island MP remain under policeman's custody after not posting $150,000 Bail and everything else like this and that― Yes?

I said the same thing. 150k should be pittance to them. I think Pintard on the back foot again with this solidarity thing. This een like the Shane Gibson case where the entire prosecution hinged on shakey Barbara Hanna. These guys have audit reports and paper trail, it's the only way they could have been allowed to seize his assets

2017 MPS WERE CHARGED AND 2022 CHARGES WERE FORECAST. WHO IS SURPRISED? AND SO THE DOORS REVOLVES, AND I CAN SEE 2026 COMING SOON TOO. INNOCENT OR GUILTY, CITIZENS DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS NO MATTER THE PARTY. THANKFULLY WE SERVE A SOVEREIGN GOD THAT'S SOLID AS A ROCK, TO HOLD ON TO WHEN HIS HERITAGE FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY.

The PLP has a dark strategic plan to destroy the FNM caucus by picking off every sitting MP with similar concocted allegations as this one. It's Long Island today. Who will be next????

Davis is hoping that the courts will be able to neutralize the FNM so that they won't be able to mobilize as a viable Opposition for the next election.

The question is: Are there wolves in sheep's clothing planted inside the FNM to destroy Pintard as well??

ADRIAN GIBSON WILL BE VINDICATED.

Concocted? They seized his assets. That's not a small thing. As to the next election its 4 years away. If the PLP have sufficient evidence to bring 30 FNM candidates before a court of law and a judge allows a trial to proceed I suggest you disband the party and start over

Comrade Sheepie12, put simply, aren't things the way they're supposed to be because it's aligned with the Red Party's governance culture that was the reason for being turfed from office by an untrusting popoulaces at-large ― Yes?

The wolves in the card carrying membership of the FNM didnt need the PLP's help. They had no intention of letting Pintard remain as leader from the day he was elected. And so far Pintard is helping them.

If this solidarity thing was to maintain goodwill with Long Island supporters I'd suggest to him that the 20,000 people who stayed home because they were disgusted with the FNM are also not enamoured with Adrian Gibson, and most likely the polar opposite.

Someone suggested that noone can know what anyone is thinking. Two years before the election when @sheeprunner was saying nobody will put the PLP back in power, I and others were saying noone has to vote for the PLP but they dont have to vote for you either, they can simply stay home.

If the FNM wants to delude itself again and assume its supporters are behind Gibson, go right ahead. People wanted him to resign before election. It was Minnis who unwisely kept him on the ticket

Doesn't matter what we say on this site.

The case will be tried in court. Prosecution will have to present their witnesses & evidence. Defense will rebut them. The jury will decide.

Now, if we don't have an independent Judiciary, then that is another matter to debate.

As for Pintard, he better be aware of what Davis is trying to do to the FNM. Davis has ALL of the organs of the State at his disposal to take down anyone who he chooses to.

In the words of J.Henry Bostwick about SLOP, Davis also knows how to treat his friends & mistreat his enemies.

lol sheep you have to be blind or simply playing the donkey. No one can be brought before the courts and charged without sufficient evidence. Secondly items cannot be seized without and order based on evidence. Pintard is another non intelligent one, as a leader you simply say you would hope your party member is innocent but if he is guilty then allow the law to do what is must. Integrity is very important and with this stance the fnm can guarantee a loss next election.

Davis is doing a great job and to me shows great humility, because Shane was shackled with a bad foot and every PLP member was brought to court before the media and not through the back door.
