PRIME Minister Philip “Brave” Davis said he believes Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ references to The Bahamas while defending Israel’s reaction to Hamas’ attack last week show he is misinformed.

For the second time, Mr DeSantis said last week that the United States would quickly “flatten” The Bahamas if “someone in The Bahamas was launching missiles into Fort Lauderdale.”

His comment came while defending Israel’s reaction to the conflict Hamas started when it attacked that country last month.

Mr Davis told reporters yesterday: “I don’t want to get into the domestic politics of the United States just as I don’t want them to get into our domestic politics but clearly he’s misinformed. We don’t have rockets.”

“We rely on the US to assist us in the event of any sort of invasion on us, so I think he’s obviously misguided, and he needs to step back, look at what our relationship is, and he ought to realise that in the state of Florida, you have more Bahamian diaspora that’s engaged in a political landscape there than ever and he should speak to them to understand what our true relationship is because I don’t think he’s familiar with the relationship.”

Bahamians have reacted bitterly to Mr DeSantis’ comment, noting the implausibility of The Bahamas attacking Florida.

On Sunday former Foreign Affairs Minister Darren Henfield called Governor DeSantis’ remarks distasteful.

“It bothers me in a sense that The Bahamas contributes so much to the economy of South Florida, and he’s the governor of Florida,” Mr Henfield said.

Fine. The PM should publicly denounce DeSantis' remarks and make a public statement that says in no uncertain terms that a Mr. DeSantis is not welcome in The Bahamas.

Hawaii is a better example. They are a state and actually have to practice nuke drills for whatever reason.

Let's boycott FL spending this holiday. Only transact with Bahamain Floridians, closed shop.

As much as we spend for promotion/reputation, it's disheartening for people who still don't know us to even remotely imagine that here can be likened in some way to such a group hearing the comment.

These globalists and globalist agents need to watch their mouths and behave themselves. Anyway, I already cancelled my Christmas holiday trip to Florida, they don't need my pennies.

I think Palestine would be better back under the crown's protection with us.

Bahamas was gracious in allowing FL to be like Isreal and not seeking FL back granted Bahamians/ local Brits had land titles from the Spaniards before even the Indians moved down south. Far before incorporating Miami, before their independence. Do the homework.

When we are threatened, we are threatened as one nation, not as individuals divided by party affiliation. It is time to put aside petty political differences and recognize the strength and resilience of the Bahamian people.

The remarks made by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis regarding The Bahamas have sparked a much-needed conversation about self-reliance and political independence within the Bahamian archipelago. While DeSantis's comments were undoubtedly insensitive and disrespectful, they also serve as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities inherent in a nation heavily reliant on external support.

In the wake of DeSantis's provocative remarks, The Bahamas is now faced with a crucial decision: will it continue to rely on external assistance, or will it seize the initiative to chart its own course towards self-sufficiency and political independence?

This incident underscores the urgency for The Bahamas to pursue a path towards self-sufficiency, particularly in the crucial food and energy sectors. By investing in sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, and renewable energy sources, The Bahamas can significantly reduce its dependence on imported goods and strengthen its resilience against external shocks.

Moreover, The Bahamas must foster a more open and inclusive political culture that empowers its citizens to actively participate in shaping the nation's destiny. This entails fostering a climate of transparency, accountability, and respect for diverse perspectives. The Bahamas can assert its sovereignty and stand tall as a self-determined nation by embracing political independence.

The path towards self-sufficiency and political independence will undoubtedly be challenging, but the rewards will be immeasurable. The Bahamas can secure a prosperous and dignified future for its citizens by reclaiming control over its resources and political trajectory.

The Bahamas must seize this opportunity to break free from the shackles of external dependence and chart a course towards a truly sovereign and self-reliant future. In doing so, it must not only look northward to the United States but also regionally to build alliances and partnerships with like-minded and skin-colour people who share in the dependence threats of the Americans.

By positioning itself as a leader in a regional bloc of like-minded and skin-colour people, The Bahamas can strengthen its position on the international stage, amplify its voice in global affairs, and promote the development of democracy and good governance across the region. This approach would benefit The Bahamas and the entire Caribbean region.

It's not a threat, it's history and partly why we're not stupid enough or too stupid to make rockets (Can you believe Gaza is just using sugar, Like just let Isreal block sending them sugar). Check Bikini Island.

However, Palestine's dependence on Isreal for 85% of its exports and livelihood should also be enough to use to barter peace.

It's impossible to be both developed on par and self-sufficient. Besides, we ignore the regional bloc called CARICOM.

The "Brave" Premiership, saying:: “I don’t want to get into the domestic politics of the United States just as I don’t want them to get into our domestic politics but clearly, Florida's governor is misinformed. ---- "We Bahamaland. don'ts now, nor have ever had rockets.” ---- Too bad the late A.D. "Mitch" Hanna, who's boyhood was spent growing-up on Hope Town - Elbow Cay, Abaco - Lighthouse grounds --- Must've not blown the whistle. as to what he and other Hope Town residents saw with their own eyes. --- 'Tis too serious stuff to just make up. --- Yes?

There's shared names of Bahamian landowners with also these in FL somewhere.

Did the US sort everything out after General Andrew Jackson led an American army into Florida to claim it for the United States?

So recall that when we have no evacuation sanctuary.

PM Davis better wake up! Iraq also didn't have any weapons of mass destruction and the United States invaded the country and murdered over 1 million people for no reason at all!

CARICOM better be looking to join BRICS for protection against America and NATO, because DeSantis and Lindsey Graham could easily wake up one morning and decide to annex the Bahamas and Caribbean for some no reason at all.

The US arms supported genocide in Gaza speaks volumes! Democracy and human rights my ass!

Libya, Iraq, Africa, Afghanistan, and now Gaza are prime examples of The United States and NATO's proven track record of destabilizing countries for made up reasons and taking whatever they want.

China and Russia have no history of attacking other countries. CARICOM better get on the BRICS train before more idiots like DeSantis and Graham wake up with another bad hangover and make more stupid decisions to "wipe out the Bahamas and Caribbean"!

Don’t forget as Florida’s Governor, DeSantis rehired the two white policemen who were fired and jailed for sodomizing an Haitian immigrant with a nightstick. Speaks volumes for his racist personality. As bad as Trump calling Haiti a sh@thole nation.

He should not have named any country. But since he had to, then why not Mexico, or Cuba. No, not Mexico, Cuba. Why is it so hard for him to name Cuba?

I didn't hear the statement from DeSantis but I'm guessing he's just making a bad example. But, we have to keep in mind DeSantis is an idiot. Also, given the over reaction by Israel, no one should be condoning their acts now. Killing innocent Palestinians in retaliation should be condemned in the strongest terms. People need to grow some kahones and tell Israel they're wrong for what they have done to innocent Palestinians. Two wrongs don't make a right.

In all fairness they should take all of DeSantis high heel shoes for a week so he can come back down to earth. Deflated ego.

A brief research of America confirms Ron DeSantis rhetoric is consistent with America's delusional mandate to dominate the entire world through military force.

The United States has less than 5% of the worlds population, but is determined to rule the entire planet. These sadistic neocons expect to rule the world by using military power to intimidate, and or invade and destroy any country refusing to kiss their asses.

America have invaded, and destabilized over 30 countries globally in the 20th century and murdered millions of people including political leaders in the process, and have established military bases in 85 countries globally. Meanwhile NO COUNTRY is allowed to develop a military base anywhere on American and NATO soil!

America claims China, North Korea and Russia are threats to global peace and security, however, the facts confirm neither China, Russia, or North Korea have ever invaded or attacked any other country.

No one should be surprised of this ingrained "global dominance mindset" as history proves America and NATO leaders mainly consists of the descendants of Vikings and Saxons who have always exhibited the lust to rule the world by force!

Thank GOD China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea have the superior military might needed to contain America and its NATO allies. Otherwise, the world would REMAIN slaves to the few at the expense of the many.

DeSantis is an idiot that spews foolishness like "judeo-christianity" or that "Western civilization was birthed in the Middle East" to appease his Zionist backers that fund him and every other US politician, but the people getting enraged about this comment are equally dumb and stupid considering the point he is trying to make is very straightforward.

If this is a US plan (heads-up) against us, for whatever reason, we don't need to shoot rockets at them, even if we had them. What they have planned (for themselves, or), against us; they can do it themselves, or just simply claimed we did and the world will either turn the head or go along with the claim. If this thing were to happen to us, well, we shouldn’t feel bad if we are abandoned. After all, we are as equally guilty as the world that might abandon us to this US claim against us. For decades, we have gone along with almost all the US claims, falsehood, blames, and provocations against other nations. An example is Venezuela; when the then prime minister return from a trip abroad announced to the nation that Juan Guido is president of Venezuela, rather than the elected president Nicolás Maduro. How come? How did that happen? It happened because the US said so, and the PM went along with it, even though no election took place for the people of Venezuela to decide this. The thing is, it was not the PM alone who went along with the US, many officials and citizens of this nation did. So now, it seems the tide might be turning for us, against us. The US and their globalist masters has layers of plans for every Nation on this planet, be it small or large , be it weak or powerful, be it rich or poor, whether friend or foe. They intend to make these plans their reality, one way or the other, and they are not backing down. We can ignore it all, minimize the issue, explain it away, cut and run out of fear an uncertainty, or get our house in order to be ready for anything, and at any time …

It seems DeSantis has been made aware of the latest batch of top secret documents, accords, etc. that The Bahamas has signed with the Chinese Communist Party.
