PRIME Minister Philip “Brave” Davis said he believes Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ references to The Bahamas while defending Israel’s reaction to Hamas’ attack last week show he is misinformed.
For the second time, Mr DeSantis said last week that the United States would quickly “flatten” The Bahamas if “someone in The Bahamas was launching missiles into Fort Lauderdale.”
His comment came while defending Israel’s reaction to the conflict Hamas started when it attacked that country last month.
Mr Davis told reporters yesterday: “I don’t want to get into the domestic politics of the United States just as I don’t want them to get into our domestic politics but clearly he’s misinformed. We don’t have rockets.”
“We rely on the US to assist us in the event of any sort of invasion on us, so I think he’s obviously misguided, and he needs to step back, look at what our relationship is, and he ought to realise that in the state of Florida, you have more Bahamian diaspora that’s engaged in a political landscape there than ever and he should speak to them to understand what our true relationship is because I don’t think he’s familiar with the relationship.”
Bahamians have reacted bitterly to Mr DeSantis’ comment, noting the implausibility of The Bahamas attacking Florida.
On Sunday former Foreign Affairs Minister Darren Henfield called Governor DeSantis’ remarks distasteful.
“It bothers me in a sense that The Bahamas contributes so much to the economy of South Florida, and he’s the governor of Florida,” Mr Henfield said.

Fine. The PM should publicly denounce DeSantis' remarks and make a public statement that says in no uncertain terms that a Mr. DeSantis is not welcome in The Bahamas.

Let's boycott FL spending this holiday. Only transact with Bahamain Floridians, closed shop.
As much as we spend for promotion/reputation, it's disheartening for people who still don't know us to even remotely imagine that here can be likened in some way to such a group hearing the comment.

Bahamas was gracious in allowing FL to be like Isreal and not seeking FL back granted Bahamians/ local Brits had land titles from the Spaniards before even the Indians moved down south. Far before incorporating Miami, before their independence. Do the homework.

However, Palestine's dependence on Isreal for 85% of its exports and livelihood should also be enough to use to barter peace.
It's impossible to be both developed on par and self-sufficient. Besides, we ignore the regional bloc called CARICOM.

I didn't hear the statement from DeSantis but I'm guessing he's just making a bad example. But, we have to keep in mind DeSantis is an idiot. Also, given the over reaction by Israel, no one should be condoning their acts now. Killing innocent Palestinians in retaliation should be condemned in the strongest terms. People need to grow some kahones and tell Israel they're wrong for what they have done to innocent Palestinians. Two wrongs don't make a right.

A brief research of America confirms Ron DeSantis rhetoric is consistent with America's delusional mandate to dominate the entire world through military force.
The United States has less than 5% of the worlds population, but is determined to rule the entire planet. These sadistic neocons expect to rule the world by using military power to intimidate, and or invade and destroy any country refusing to kiss their asses.
America have invaded, and destabilized over 30 countries globally in the 20th century and murdered millions of people including political leaders in the process, and have established military bases in 85 countries globally. Meanwhile NO COUNTRY is allowed to develop a military base anywhere on American and NATO soil!
America claims China, North Korea and Russia are threats to global peace and security, however, the facts confirm neither China, Russia, or North Korea have ever invaded or attacked any other country.

If this is a US plan (heads-up) against us, for whatever reason, we don't need to shoot rockets at them, even if we had them. What they have planned (for themselves, or), against us; they can do it themselves, or just simply claimed we did and the world will either turn the head or go along with the claim. If this thing were to happen to us, well, we shouldn’t feel bad if we are abandoned. After all, we are as equally guilty as the world that might abandon us to this US claim against us. For decades, we have gone along with almost all the US claims, falsehood, blames, and provocations against other nations. An example is Venezuela; when the then prime minister return from a trip abroad announced to the nation that Juan Guido is president of Venezuela, rather than the elected president Nicolás Maduro. How come? How did that happen? It happened because the US said so, and the PM went along with it, even though no election took place for the people of Venezuela to decide this.
