A POLICE officer who allegedly brandished a weapon in public was interdicted from the police force yesterday.
Constable Dreyson Henfield, who The Tribune understands is the son of Free National Movement Senator Darren Henfield, allegedly brandished a firearm on Tuesday at a business establishment on Cowpen Road and was subsequently arrested. An off-duty officer reportedly reported the matter, and Henfield’s weapon was confiscated.
He was reportedly on extended sick leave at the time of the incident. He was discharged from the force.

Is this the morale issue they were talking about? Smh, please... The fact that the police are just getting rulings for homicide in the coroner's court is a long overdue. When you know at least one person shot by mistake and that the police walked away without consequence, it's crazy to see this behavior in this article treated as some isolated events.

The police force is in trouble, and so are we. Wh3n we have to hire boys whom received a leaving certificate and not a diploma, we are in a big problem. These guys are rogues and thugs. Who is going to feel confident if he/she has to call the police. They are invincible. I shutter to think that I have to call the police if I have a problem. I will have to suck it up.

Isn't there a minimum fine and/or prison time for having an illegal firearm? Isn't there also one for each bullet? Let me guess, the law was changed? Some MP has the authority to determine the punishment? The prosecution (if there was even one) and the defendant came to some top secret plea deal? Knowing our system, this criminal probably walked away with a million dollars for the embarrassment of being named. And he's probably now promoted to the head of some gang and received a confirmed constituency in the next general election.
