A MAN was sentenced to four months in prison on Friday after he admitted to the possession of 33 grams of marijuana last week.

Magistrate Raquel Whyms charged Alley Miller, 27, with possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply.

Miller was arrested on April 10 in New Providence after he was found with a substantial quantity of marijuana.

After pleading guilty to the charge, Miller was informed that he must also have good behaviour for one year or an additional month would be added to his sentence.

People are dying from fentanyl and opioid overdoses. Many suspicious deaths when persons apparently using cocaine list consciousness, had difficulty breathing or their hearts stopped beating. We’re their deaths properly diagnosed.

Recreational Marijuana is on the Florida ballot in November. Polls showing it will pass. What then Bahamas? Lock up the Tourists for dangerous drugs?

33 grams isnt recreational. Th he problem The Bahamas has from the top down everybody believes outsmarting the law is the way to get ahead. When/if marijuana legislation passes they're going to have a 7 headed monster on their hands, because no matter the messaging that comes after, the loose discussions that have been deliberately allowed (I recall the glee of officials at the town hall when they said people overwhelmingly wanted legalization) this will descend into chaos with everybody believing they can do as they like.

Just take a look at turn left on red. People now run red lights in every direction with impunity because the original discussion was extremely loose.

This man was sentenced to four months in prison for possession of 33 grams or 1.16 ounces of marijuana. After serving his sentence he will be a much worst individual than when he went in.

The government places very little value on Bahamian lives!
