Boy reunited with parents after another abduction

Police are investigating another child abduction in the capital after a boy was taken from outside his home on Friday and dropped off near the City Dump.

According to reports, shortly before 9pm, two boys aged eight and 10 were standing in front of their home on Collins Close, off Lumumba Lane, when a woman driving a silver vehicle stopped and started talking them. The ten-year-old boy walked away, but the woman lured the 8-year-old into her car and drove off.

A short time later, the boy was dropped off on Tonique Williams Darling Highway near the entrance of the dump. The boy was reunited with his parents and taken to hospital, where he was examined by a doctor and said to be in good health. Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information concerning this incident to contact 911, 919, Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2.

Could this possibly be someone who is looking to shed light on how extremely easy it is to abduct children around here.

if I were the parents and law enforcement I would seek to be more vigilant when it concerns children.

this is a time for parents to daily warn their children not to interact with strangers. also to arrange for children to return from school in groups.

teachers should also be warning children.

i noticed a woman at the bank whose children were calling her on the phone from the parking lot. I told her not to leave the children alone in the car and offered to hold her place in the line while she brought them inside.

Somebody sure is getting their rocks offs doing this nonsense. Guess the ‘kidnapper’ decided to wait for the heat to die down before striking again. That being said I agree with the above comment. Parents need to start talking to their children in the strongest terms about talking to strangers and even worse going far enough to get in their cars! We may live in the Bahamas but please let’s not take it for granted that this only happens in America. There are sick people out there who are reading or hearing these stories and getting ideas. We don’t want anything worse to happen to our kids.

Why are underaged children out walking alone or unsupervised at 9pm at night????? .......... Why is this tolerated??? Is this acceptable behaviour in this present social environment???? Are the parent(s) being booked??????? ............ Where is the social outrage????

It's happening because parents feel comfortable. They are under the impression that nothing will happen to children in The Bahamas.

Parents will not take heed until a few children are abducted and either never found, or found raped and mutilated.

Is that what needs to happen before parents wake up and start being more protective of their children? SMH!!!
