The two masked thieves who held up the Rubis service station on West Bay Street were caught on security cameras.
POLICE are looking for two brazen thieves who robbed a Rubis service station on West Bay Street yesterday.
The robbery occurred about two hours before two masked thieves robbed and shot a business owner. Police have not said if the incidents are related.
The Rubis robbery was captioned on the station’s security cameras and store owners have published videos and photos on social media to help lead to the suspects’ arrest.
Police said the robbery occurred shortly before 11am. Two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered the West Bay Street service station and robbed the cashier of an undetermined amount of cash.
Video of the robbery shows a man in a red shirt walking up to the cashier with a man in a dark shirt close behind him. Both thieves also wore hats and cloth face masks. The man in the dark shirt pulls out a gun on one employee while the man in the red shirt holds a plastic bag for the cashier to deposit money from the register in.
The thieves escaped the service station’s store about a minute later.
Two masked men also robbed a business on Joe Farrington Road before 2pm yesterday.
One of the men had a handgun and robbed the business owner of an undetermined amount of cash and shot the proprietor, police said. Both suspects escaped in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to hospital. Investigations are ongoing.

This waves of robberies, crimes of all kinds including the long stationary State Robberies taking place in ways of corruption by public elected officials, in combination with certain international and national financial institutions like BID & BOB respectively also many others. Where is the contingency plan to couneract what is about to come mainly because of the low rate of job in the country due to COVID-19 ? Adding factors like the lack of transparency managing the public pulse and the mismatching of government decisions, with the priorities of the nation., it's only adding more fuel into the fire where a significant amount of the population could be compelled to be consumed and burned by such fire. What a value of a Nation having wealth IF it doesn't know what to do? It takes a good leadership in order to reach where we want to be. And that includes going back to basics and do the things right, with a lot of integrity and determination to establish the HIGH QUALITY STANDARDS because in The Bahamas, QUALITY SHOULD GO FIRST. Not otherwise. We need better Police Patrolling, and better protection from the government to the PRIVATE PROPERTY and the people. This supposes to be "People's time" But FNM stole that, together with the people's dignity and long stationary claims of respect.

This is also a time that the community, family members and people who recognize these robbers need to step forward and point them out to the RBPF, then and only then would these thugs and persons like them understand that they won't have anywhere to hide and continue to wreak havoc on the rest of the community.

Plenty more of this to come in the not too distant future. Black market arms dealers are expecting a windfall in profits from the economic woes of the Bahamas.
