The Ministry of Health reported that there were 110 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. This brings the total number of cases to 1,923 - with 1,135 of those active. There was also one non-COVID related death.
Ninety-seven of the new cases were on New Providence, 12 were on Grand Bahama and one was on Abaco.
Health officials are reminding the public to practice the following measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
• Wear a face mask when you leave home;
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 70% alcohol;
• Cover your cough or sneeze in your inner elbow or with a tissue; and
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as phones, remotes controls, counters, doorknobs, and keyboards.

You must be sick in the head if you truly believe Bahamians will follow any sort of protocol! We'll be back on lockdown in the coming weeks due to reopening up AGAIN without any proper planning put in place!

truth is in general people dont have to do.... If they want good results they have to. The subset that really have to are the decision makers and the rule enforcers. The politicians have to start including thinking people as their counsellors and the police have to start targeting the rule breakers. Because listening to the advisors of the past 6 months and branding the entire population as hard headed has resulted in utter disaster. The PM should no longer be listening to anyone who advised him to close down the COVID infrastructure, open the borders in July, enact the alphabetical shopping schedule or issue an immediate lockdown. All of those advisors should be moved to other non life and economy threatening roles

With 110 new cases reported,this is very serious in deed.In Canada and specially in the City of Toronto with a population of 6million, they only had less than that reported yesterday.110 for the Bahamas, this seems like the covid-19 is out of control and increasing fast.With the test ben done and the number of not been tested, the number of deaths will rise substantially over the next couple of months.

recall that they missed a day of reporting. Not sure why they can't complete a consistent number of tests per day and report on it. Maybe it's like every job, you have a job title that quickly morphs into cook and bottle washer. And some days there's some piled up bottles to take you away from your real objective.

Troubled by the deaths. People seem to be dying at a faster rate. We had 11 deaths over 4 months from March to June, we've had about 30 in little over a month from July. I hope they are examining the care these persons received to ensure that mistakes aren't being made and people aren't dying unnecessarily. Even if that means engaging outside expert reviews to look at the cases. Remember between March to May an international consortium of doctors postulated that the unusually high global death rate was likely due to improper use of ventilators by unskilled medical professionals. I'm not saying that's the case here, I'm saying make sure that or some other abnormality in pricddure isn't the cause
