I was reading about the UK's new tiered restrictions. One interesting bit was that Liverpool, a densely populated city, and one of the hardest hit covid hotspots, has an infection rate of 642.3 cases per 100,000 population. By comparison, we have approximately 1,250 cases per 100,000 population. If we were in the UK, I think they would build a wall around us until we all kill each other off. Surely it's time to bring in some international experts - either that or as ohdrap4 says, look out for more lockdowns.

Covid-19 deaths are going to skyrocket but not be captured in our country's statistics simply because many of the infected who become deathly ill are now finding it impossible to get effective treatment at a properly staffed and equipped hospital facility as a result of our totally overwhelmed public health system. Sadly, the worst has yet to come and will be much much worse than what we are experiencing right now. Thank you Dr. Minnis!

no one said the disease was going away. everyone is going to get it eventually. that is the name of the game. silly commenters of self import ^^^

Yeah, and we're all gonna die one day too. So what's your point?

Many of us who are more vulnerable to the deadly Communist China Virus would prefer not dying from it before our time simply because the public health system is totally overwhelmed or a vaccine is not yet available. And there's certainly nothing the least bit silly about that.

I much suspect that you may be correct, DWW, with your assertion that everyone will eventually contract the novel corona virus however the point of the lockdowns, mask wearing, and social distancing, is not to prevent everyone from becoming infected but rather to prevent everyone becoming infected at the same time. /if this happens then the medical resources available to treat the worst cases will not be adequate. This will result in unnecessary deaths. This is the theory as I understand it, time will tell if it is true.

The medical resources were not adequate way before Covid. We all know someone who died unnecessarily for lack or insuficciency of medical care in the emergency room.

This lockdown foolishness is preventing a whole generation from enjoying a middle class dream of owning their own home.

People believed that getting a college degree would improve their lives, now they will lose their homes and compete for minimum wage jobs.

How do we know the Case numbers are true? Where and when do all these people get tested? OPEN THE CHURCHES, SCHOOLS, BEACHES, BUSINESSES ETC.... They are trying to keep THE FEAR in us so that we will comply. We are loosing our freedom to do what we want to do. LOCKDOWNS DON'T WORK.......Complete control and stupidity that we can't go to the beach or swim in the sea. They is trying to break us down mentally. I am 73 and healthy and I want to stay healthy and live my life doing things, not being locked up inside. I hope the people that can do something will have the 'balls' to do something to stop the CONTROLLING.....they are slowing taking away our rights and we won't even know. Someone please explain to me why we don't get the virus inside the Banks before 1pm...only after 1pm and the staff are ok inside....we need the Banks to be opened longer. What about the shops? Employees are ok inside but not us? Why can't we eat outside the restaurants??? We really going to get the virus outside restaurants but the emloyees don't????

well you can't argue with dead people or people who can't breathe properly.

Did you actually see that many dead people or that many who couldn't breathe? You believe everything they tell you hey?

uh..no I didnt see them, I dont work at the hospital morgue... and yes I do believe it when they tell me people have died. I know a number of them. They are no longer with us.

If you look at the graph for the numbers of covid-19 cases, three distinct waves are clearly visible, indicating that the world is now experiencing the third wave of Corona. But if you look graphs for individual countries are all varied. China, for example had a wave in the early part of the year. But then it flattened its curve and its cases have remained relatively low ( below 20) ever since. Russia did not see a major surge until later and now its number of daily cases continue to climb. And the United States reflects the world curves, despite continuing to see increases in new cases and deaths, it’s graph shows three distinct waves. The Bahamas also shows three clear waves. One back in March after which the curve was flattened and the number of cases remained close to zero until August when the borders were reopened and started a new surge of cases. Then there was some decline in the numbers as most cases were occurring on New Providence and on Abaco. But now there has been a resurgence of cases on Eleuthera, Bimini and Grand Bahama and the past two weekends saw record cases and hence a third wave. Of interest is Florida’s curve. As you know Florida was taking little precautions against the virus. Their beaches and restaurants and nightclubs remained open. And their numbers surged. The first wave. Then Florida took some measures, like closing its beaches, encouraging the wearing of masks and social distancing. Florida numbers has plunged over the past few weeks. But guess what? Florida just lost a court order to enforce curfews on restaurants and nightclubs. So then expect another surge in a few days.

Strongly suggest you take the following: -

    • Quercetin
    • Green tea extract

Reason - when taken together they act in synergy to help Zinc enter the cell (which the ACE II inhibitory characteristics of COVID-19 suppresses), as a Zinc Ionophore (i.e. like Hydroxy Chloroquine but without any risks of negative heart side effects), and Zinc can then do its job to reduce viral replication

    • Zinc - best taken as Zinc lozenges at first sign of cough or sore throat as the virus enters by the mucosal membranes in the back of the throat
    • Vitamin D3 - increase your levels by Liquid d3, as higher base levels are associated with significantly better prognosis
    • Vitamin C - 2 grams per day, increase if you get sick to help reduce inflammatory cascade etc.

If you get it and start getting sick or feel tightness in the chest, take Berberine; it can be tougher on your liver than some plant based supplements as it is an alkaloid, but it is a very strong anti-viral, particularly for the lungs... :-)

I'm over 50 have had CV19, but never an issue by following the above, taking high quality anti-oxidants, wearing a mask and reading PubMed and staying below15% body fat. Intermittent fasting, exercise, low glycemic index all work. Time to get in shape as best you can...! So check this with your Doctor and read PubMed.

This is far more in your own (clean) hands than we think...

Those are all good supplements but how do you know you did well because you took the cocktail? You may just be one of those persons experiencing mild symptoms. 15% body fat sounds like the real kicker.

Good question - because I did not do well before I took these, it worked and the science supports it.

The real kickers are 1) the 2014 study that shows green tea extract and Quercetin work as a Zinc Ionophore (of course the D3), 2) good quality Zinc, and 3) the Berberine.

I had COVID at start of February in New York and knew this was different. Felt like I was going to die. But ramping up the Vitamin C (sometimes very high to 8 - 9 grams a day helped), but still the pain in the middle of the chest would not go away and slight shortness of breath. Ugh!

So I researched alkaloids and their anti-viral properties, all on PubMed. And Berberine seemed the best and I did a high dose of 3,000 mg (bit risky) and chest pain went away within an hour or 2 and over a couple of days shortness of breath left. I followed up with a COVID PCR test and was negative. Now I always take a little extra if I have to go the store.

It works..., because of the Science.

In terms of body fat, I was a bit fat, 200 lbs +, but am now 185. Simple intermittent fasting and low glycemic index foods, and several days just drinking hot herbal tea. It works.

Be well.

Ok those are good indicators now to prove that it's really true there'd have to be a blind study. Some people with COVID getting your cocktail and others something else and others still nothing. Then we can see if over time people who git something else or nothing also got better

My own daily dosages of D3 and Zinc are 2000 units and 50mg respectively. But sadly many Bahamians would rather buy a costly meal at a deadly fast food place like KFC or Wendy's than buy and take these essential basic vitamins.
