Oh no. Please don't. I can't take anymore. Unable to even sleep without a fan or A/C on. Please Mr. Christie respond. This country is enough of a hell hole as it is; we don't need intentional acts of turning off electricity.

I'm a Union Guy and know the benefits of a union but this is rediculous, I mean that is sabotage and anyone involve should be prosecuted if they follow through. Striking is one thing but sabotaging equipments to mess up an already dieing tourist industry, and everything else that really need power. I would just go ahead and sell the dog on company to a foreign investor and let them do as they are please with the union. Bahamian people like for the government to keep these company under the government but they would understand if they loose they little grocery and have to sleep in a 100 degree house.

I say go for it. Customs had the whole Bahamas in danger and they were supported by the PLP party. Now I heard that they want to put Leslie Miller in BEC who happens to have an outstanding bill that he will pass on to us. I am for the Black OUT.

How is it that such people are allowed to have such high bills at BEC and not be made to pay them? I have heard this as well and a similar case in Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera - so this is Bahamas wide?

It sure looks so. Now my co-workers and friends can appreciate why I call New Providence "Goat Village" or "Fishing Pillage" cause this is the mentality of the people.

Comrades wouldn't electricity have to be first running from BEC into your home or business before they can power outage it? What's BEC next promo package. Bundling Package that will include "Free Candles" with each new customer connection?

We can't talk about the oil deal until we have set up everything and who is getting what. It is all a very behind closed doors thing just like Bluewater....

Now we will get Blackwater Oil company, with unknown partners and no track record.

But we will get the oil!!!

they now saying that oil may not be included in the refurendum anymore

B ring E xtra C andles

You frustrate it to sell it i.e. make bahamians think we can't run it so the bahamian people will be willing to have our leaders privatize with another FIRE SALE .....

Remember BTC gone for $220 M it just made over $345 M in its 1st year for the NEW FORIGN OWNERS .....LOL

Ya too DUMB ! Yunna don't need light anyway ,ya aint been productive with it to date !...... LOL

it did not make over 345million ,,that was the revenue it collected ,gross revenue ,you have to subtract expenses ,payrool ,trucks ,fuel ,etc ..to figure out profit

So, are you saying the sale of BTC was a good deal and that there is no need for an Audit? Didn't Hubert say the $220 million would be used for PMH, and did he use it as promised when he stood in the House to threaten his own darn red shirt House members to vote for the sale of BTC, or he would place all their seats at risk by calling a snap General Election?

TalRussell 11 years, 10 months ago

Didn't we learn our foreigner lessons from the sale of BTC? Let's review. Hubert stood in the House to say that the $220 million from the sale pf BTC, his most favorite foreigner pet project, was going to be used for PMH. Did it? if not where in ht hell was the $220 million sitting when Hubert rushed to his red shirts Fire Exit at shortly after Ten on the night May 7? Forget this nonsense about referendums, nothing short of conducting an immediate audit surrounding the sale of BTC will satisfy the native's.

Yeah just do it the traditional PLP way - shove it down the throats of the "natives" - they won't know the difference anyway; Leslie Miller can tell you about that!

Mayaguana34 11 years, 10 months ago

I cant believe they have the nerve to even threaten this as a first response - Get the meeting with the Management - Go to the Minister - If necessary the Prime Minister. Then start a protest but dont touch the light - People are frustrated with the highest energy cost in this hemisphere and sporadic service - to then threaten sabotage leaves no room for sympathy for your cause! #thinkbeforeyouact

Ah, the BEC children are going to take their toys and go home cause they don't like something!? Ahhhh. Poor babies. Take a grown up pill will ya?!

While they are negotiating I hope that the government honors its promise on reducing electricity and gas bills. So far, they same to be telling us that did really didn't promise us anything. We just misunderstood them.

What of all Hubert's outlandish promises? This is for those who may have forgotten, as it seems Hubert certainly thinks the Abacoians have, that he stood before Bahamaland shortly after Ten on the night of May 7, to inform the nation that; "he would not be suiting-up ever again to attend the House?" Just like so many other things he has said that could not be believed , this video is all the evidence you need that his word ain't worth crap. And, there is talk coming out of Cooper's Town that he may have changed his mind and be be sending his suit out to the cleaners for lots more House visits, along with his Bowler Hat? http://vimeo.com/43324277" rel="nofollow">http://vimeo.com/43324277

Yep the sale of BTC was a good one, BEC AND BAHAMASAIR should be next. As long as govenment run these business being sub standard is the order of the day. If BTC was not sold there would be no upgrades being done today. Not 1 cent profit of Bahamasair since they opened the doors, sell it and see how quick that changes. Sell BEC and see how quickly they stop holding the country hostage. Classic govenment workers thinking they doing the Bahamain public a favor. I wonder if the BEC workers think when they turn the lights out - that their lights will stay on. But TAL RUSSELL ties this to HAI like the JACK BEHIND THE HEAD TAL RUSSELL proves to be over and over.
