We're introduced to the most characters with a try of putting gap scenes: a fine looking missy walks into a Birmingham picture gallery, puts her hand to a Victorian painting of Eve and watches because the paint starts to maneuver at a lower place her bit. a person wakes alone on a raft within the middle of associate degree ocean crammed with bits of random junk, floating towards oblivion, unable to recollect WHO he's.
How these 2 stories entwine may be a joy to read; there is associate degree urgency to Brogden's prose that keeps the action quick and thrilling, while not sacrificing either thematic depth or his bent for associate degree evocatively British atmosphere ("Seagulls wheeled like windborne litter in an exceedingly sky the color of lead").
