International Women's Day started in 1911 and is recognised annually around the world on March 8 to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Women's groups and other institutions in the Bahamas have a number of events planned this week to join the international celebration. See page 11 for a list of upcoming events.
