By LAMECH JOHNSON Tribune Staff Reporter ljohnson@tribunemedia.net POLICE detained four men and a boy for questioning over the weekend in connection with stealing, armed robbery and illegal firearm investigations. Officers were also able to take $9,000 worth of marijuana of the streets. On Friday at around 9pm, Southern Division officers were patrolling the Deveaux Street area when they were tipped off about a suspicious white Honda Accord. Searching the car, the officers discovered nine pounds of marijuana. No one has been arrested in connection with the seizure. However, Sgt Chrislyn Skippings said police are following significant leads in their search for the owner of the car. The first arrest over the weekend was a Quakoo Street man, detained on Parliament Street near Victoria Gardens around noon on Saturday. Officers of the Tourism Police Unit saw the man acting suspiciously near a car. After approaching, they noticed the vehicle was ransacked and discovered a bag nearby that contained a laptop and other items. The man was taken in for questioning. Later that day, Central Division officers were on patrol on Virginia Street when they saw two men running. They caught and detained one of the men for questioning, and also collected a handbag, jewellery, cash and a lap-top from the ground nearby. They are actively searching for the second man. Just before 1am yesterday, Central Detective Unit officers took two men and a juvenile into custody after finding a gun and ammunition in a car. The men, ages 27 and 20, and 17-year-old boy were detained on Davis Street off Thompson Blvd. They are currently helping police with their investigation.
