By DENISE MAYCOCK Tribune Freeport Reporter dmaycock@tribunemedia.net FREEPORT - A Freeport man was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty in the Freeport Magistrate's Court to 23 counts of stealing. Charles Symonette, 37, of Pioneer's Way, was charged with 12 counts of stealing from a vehicle in Court 2 before Magistrate Andrew Forbes. He pleaded guilty to the offences on Friday last week and was sentenced to 28 months in prison. Symonette was also charged with 11 counts of stealing from a vehicle in Court Three before Deputy Chief Helen Jones. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years. The two sentences are to run concurrently. According to reports, Symonette was caught breaking into a vehicle on Monday at Pioneer's Way. The owner of the vehicle confronted Symonette, who was injured and taken to hospital. After his release from hospital, he was arrested by police for the offences.
