PLP's new MPs on being back in power

'My first order of business is to begin the framework that will form Carmichael into a model of what a constituency should be like, look like, feel like and act like.' Daniel Johnson - Carmichael 'What is needed is a government that understands what the need of the residents are and can do things for them, providing them with the opportunities to improve their conditions and that's why I wanted to get re-elected. 'I will now focus on the things I couldn't over the last five years and develop programmes to help the young women and men of that community.' B.J. Nottage - Bains and Grants Towns 'In South Beach we are going to run as a team. Because South Beach was neglected for a long time we have a lot of things to do out there.' Cleola Hamilton - South Beach 'I am very excited about the prospects of the future not only for The Bahamas but certainly for Southern Shores. 'For me it's now time to focus on executing the plans that I've been speaking about in the community. 'I am looking forward to serving the community and the people of Southern Shores.' Kenred Dorsett - Southern Shores 'Winning is only half the battle. We now need to do a lot of work. 'Pinewood is one of those areas, when looking at the crime statistics coming out of there, the numbers are startling. 'It is an indication that we need to raise those young men in a better way and I am committed to that. 'The first thing that I am going to do is form a community development board. 'That board will be responsible for the overall management of the affairs of Pinewood Gardens. 'It is a concept that I ran on and a lot of the residents really loved it. 'We believe that it's going to serve that community well.' Khaalis Rolle - Pinewood 'It took a lot of work and it proves that money does not trump hard work. 'Money does not trump getting on the ground shaking hands touching people and touching people's lives. 'People think that they can get there at the last minute and pump a lot of money on the ground and beat another candidate but it doesn't happen like that. 'You have to make sure that people see you and feel you. That's why I am here.' Arnold Forbes - Mount Moriah
