Prayer and praise to stem the violence

BISHOP Arnold Josey and the officers and members of the Commonwealth Baptist Church in Elizabeth Estates invites all Bahamians of good will who know the "virtue of prayer" to participate in a time of prayer and praise on Whit Monday at 9am. "These are serious times in which we live, violent crime and bloodshed, accompanied by disappointments and anguish has become the order of the day. When public affairs are being threatened, spiritual power needs to be released," said a statement released by the church. "As Bahamians we believe that prayer changes things, and when the praises go up the blessings will come down. We are calling the politicians, the pastors and the people for a time of prayer, let's make this Holiday a Holy Day, as together we prayer for the healing of our land, and that a gracious God would spare us the ravages of another hurricane season," it stated. The event is scheduled for the Basketball Court on Commonwealth Boulevard next to the police station.
