PRINTASSIA Johnson, a 2011 Queen's College graduate and prominent sprinter, was awarded a full track and field scholarship to attend Illinois State University this spring. Johnson had a choice between numerous Division One track and field programmes. However, after reviewing the prestigious Illinois State programme her heart and soul was content and she was confident that is where she would commence her university journey this year. Head coach Elvis Forde, director of track and field/cross country at Illinois State University, is extremely elated and ecstatic to have her join his elite programme. He noted that both her academic and athletic accomplishments would be a huge asset to his programme and he is looking forward to excellent results from her this season. In addition, he also encouraged other athletes to stay focused and balance there academics with athletics and other opportunities would be presented to them. During her tenure at Queen's College, she assisted her team to second place finishes and won her division at the Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools (BAISS) Championships from 2006 to 2011. Not only did she participate in events for her school, she was also chosen to represent both her school and the Bahamas at major international meets, namely the Bahamas CARIFTA Teams 2006 - 2011, the prestigious Penn Relays 2010 - 2011, Embry Riddle Track and Field Classic, Baytaf Classic, and Russell E Blunt East Coast Invitational Track Meet. Printassia is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry and Princess Johnson and has earned the highest honour for all her events. She plans to major in business management with a concentration in marketing and later hopes to become the best real estate executive in the Bahamas. Johnson is grateful, humbled and appreciative and thankful to Citizen Bahamas Business and Consulting Firm for there continued support, guidance, assistance, nurturing and mentoring. She is convinced that both her experience and professional commitment to academics and athletics would uphold her character, honesty and integrity in all her future achievements. Good luck Printassia!
