FREEPORT - A 36-year-old father accused of incest will no longer stand trial in the Supreme Court after the matter was withdrawn on Monday.
Last September, the man, a resident of Jones Town, Eight Mile Rock, was charged with having sex with his eight-year-old daughter on August 15, at a residence in High Rock.
The trial was scheduled to begin on Monday, however, the victim's mother informed Senior Justice Hartman Longley that she no longer wished to proceed with the matter.
In light of this, the prosecution withdrew charge.
