BTC has apologised to MP Cynthia "Mother" Pratt for installing a cell tower in the community park named after her.

The park is located in Mrs Pratt's St Cecilia constituency, and the company said it appreciates her concern and acknowledges that it failed to advise community leaders and residents of its plans and invite discussion.

"Going forward, the company wishes to assure the public that proper procedures are now in place to make certain there is opportunity for public dialogue in instances where proposed construction sites are located at or near sensitive areas," a BTC statement said.

The company's CEO Geoff Houston personally wrote to Mother Pratt yesterday, apologising for the lack of community dialogue and assuring her the park will be fully restored. Several BTC team members also contacted the MP.
