POLICE are questioning two men in connection with the country's latest murder.

Superintendent Paul Rolle, in charge of the homicide division, said police were expecting to charge the pair, one aged 23, the other aged 43, in the coming days.

The victim, who had not yet been identified last night, was found lying in front of his home in Miami Street with a gunshot injury to his upper body around 8pm on Friday.

He became the country's 32nd murder victim.

Supt Rolle said police were also questioning a 52-year-old man in connection with the murder of Humphrey Tynes.

Mr Tynes, 32, was shot multiple times in his St Albans Drive apartment last Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also reported that officers of the Southern Division conducted operation "Southern Storm" resulting in the arrest of 18 persons.

Eleven people were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants, two in reference to a stolen vehicle, two for vagrancy, two for unlawfully carrying arms and one for disorderly behaviour.

Additionally 106 drivers were cited for various traffic offences and officers recovered one stolen vehicle.

The operation was held between 6pm on Saturday and 4am on Sunday.

Three people, two women and a man, are also in police custody after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Police say shortly before 8pm on Saturday Southern Division officers executed a search warrant on a residence in Hospital Lane where they discovered the drugs.
