Another one bites the dust

AMERICAN Idol fans put him in the bottom three with contestants Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone, and American Idol judges voted him out: Contestant DeAndre Brackensick got no love last week, as AI judges opted against using their "save me card" on the 17-year old competitor.

His last performance was "I Like It" by DeBarge, and despite the positive feedback from judges the night before, DeAndre did not make the cut. Judge Jennifer Lopez delivered the heart breaking news to DeAndre.

"You're an amazing performer and I stand by that. I think you have an amazing voice and you're going to share a lot with the world. I really do believe that. I only get one vote. I'm sorry, we're not saving you tonight. I'm sorry, baby," said Judge Lopez.

After his elimination, the San Jose, California native said he was glad to go home on a good note.

According to E online, DeAndre said: "I went off happy. It wasn't a sad moment in the way where I had a regret or I did something wrong. I have no regrets and I did what I needed to do."

In Ya Ear asked a few American Idol viewers to predict the top three.

Jamie Thompson* said Jessica Sanchez's spot has been secure since day one. "I think we all know that Jessica has proven herself to be one of the most talented in the competition so far. Besides, no one else is really sticking out to me, everybody else is boring. She got me when she sang that Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You" a few weeks ago. And again she sang Whitney's "How Will I Know" last week, and she was amazing. If she sticks to these Whitney renditions, she night just win the competition," she said.

Phillip Phillips was top on the list of Angelica Culmer*, an Idol fan. "Honestly I always loved him from his first audition and I always fall for the young country looking guy. I know he will make it as far as the top three because his potential is through the roof. Their mentor Jimmy was hard on him last week, but hopefully it is for the better. I just want him to take the advice and use it to his advantage."

Amy Gibson* said contestant Elise Testone is holding a secure spot. She said: "Elise has a very different voice from the other contestants. And I think this year the judges are really pushing for a female winner, so it's between Elise and Jessica. I know for sure they both will be making it to the top three later on."

This week, the remaining contestants will take to the American Idol stage to perform hit songs from the present decade.
