12 indians captured by police

TWELVE Indian men are in police custody today after being discovered in Inagua on Wednesday.

Police detained the men at around 5pm near the corner of Victoria and Taylor Street, after receiving a tip from someone who claimed the men are illegal immigrants.

The men range in age from 17 to 35. Investigations continue.

Police are also investigating a shooting that left a 41-year-old Fox Hill man in hospital.

The incident occurred just before 11.30am on Wednesday.

Police say the victim was at Malcolm Road between East Street and Kennedy Subdivision, when he was approached by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

A struggle ensued between the men, which resulted in the victim being shot.

The Dorsette Street resident was taken to hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
