Bahamian realtor at top industry summit

BAHAMAS Realty's chief executive has attended an Orlando summit featuring some of the world's top real estate firms and professionals.

Larry Roberts attended the Luxury portfolio SUMMIT on March 22-24, which was immediately followed by The Leading Real Estate Companies of the World annual conference.

Mr Roberts and Bahamas Realty are members of Luxury Portfolio International TM, the luxury face of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World. The latter is the largest global network of premier, locally-branded companies that is dominated by many of the top independent luxury brokerages.

During the conference, Mr Roberts attended a meeting of the International Advisory Board for Leading Real Estate Companies of The World. As a Board member, Mr Roberts was involved in discussions that, in addition to many topical issues, assessed ways to enhance the brand and expand the Network beyond the 30 countries already represented.

"Last year, the real estate market experienced many positive changes as it continues to adjust," said Paul Boomsma, president of Luxury Portfolio. "The luxury space, in particular, attracted a renewed attention, creating a demand for our network's real estate professionals to stay on point with the ever-evolving luxury preferences, which was reflected in our increased attendance this year."

Keynote speakers included Robert Frank, best-selling author and senior writer for the Wall Street Journal, whose session examined the changing impact of wealth on the economy, and Dr Michio Kaku, famed futurist, physicist and bestselling author.

Also featured were numerous panel discussions featuring Luxury Portfolio members and wealth experts from other industries, who exchanged perspectives on how to define and project luxury offerings.

Launched in 2005, Luxury Portfolio International annually markets 25,000 of the world's most remarkable homes, attracting over 1.2 million high-net-worth visitors a year to its website.
