KFC to sponsor regatta

KFC Nassau has announced that it will sponsor this year’s Cat Island Regatta as part of the company’s “long tradition” of supporting Bahamian culture and community.

The regatta’s A Cup Race will be renamed “The KFC Nassau A-Cup Race”, with the restaurant company providing the race’s purse.

The Cat Island Regatta, now in its 56th year, is one of the premier cultural events in the Bahamas and attracts maritime race lovers from the Bahamas’ other islands and abroad.

The event features sloop racing, live entertainment, cultural activities, and local food and drink.

“It’s an honour for us to be a sponsor of this year’s Cat Island Regatta”, said Gabriel Sastre, vice president and general manager of Restaurants (Bahamas) Limited, the franchise’s parent company.

“Long-standing Bahamian events like this regatta are so important to our country’s culture, and KFC Nassau is proud to be a part of it.

“We wish all of the racers in the KFC Nassau A Cup Race the best of luck.”

KFC Nassau has been a staple in the New Providence community since 1967, and currently has nine KFC restaurants throughout New Providence.
