With two triple jumps left to go, Leevan "Superman" Sands injured his knee, falling out of the medal race at the 2012 Olympics.

Sands suffered a knee injury on his fourth jump in the men's triple jump final, causing him to spill into the sand. He had to be carted off on a stretcher by Olympic officials.

He was the Bahamas' first hope for a medal at the 30th Olympiad and was holding fourth place in the triple jump with a third jump of 17.19 before his Olympic-ending injury.
