Police search for murderer

Police have launched an intensive island wide hunt for a man accused of shooting and killing a security guard late last night.

According to reports, the murder occurred around 8.45pm at Sunlight Cottage off East Street.

Police say the victim, who sources identify as Luke Dullman of Eneas Lane off East street, was riding his scooter when someone opened fire on him from a vacant lot.

Dullman received multiple gunshot wounds to the head, throat and upper back.

He died on the scene.

Police recovered five spent casings from around the body.

Dullman is said to be a security guard for a popular local web shop.

Sources close to the investigation say police are searching for a suspect who is “well known” to authorities.

Superintendent Stephen Dean said sent a warning to criminals last night who continue to “terrorise our streets”.

He said: “I want these criminals to know that we are actively pursuing them. We have an idea who some of them are and we will find them and bring them into custody. We are close on your trail. We will find you.”

Supt Dean said police can not fight this battle alone and he is asking members of the public to work with police anyway they can.

Anyone with information on this latest murder is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-Tips.
