Memories of Bahamas Airways

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Today's editorial and the accompanying letter brought back many memories of Bahamas Airways Limited, a company, where I was a pilot from 1963 until 1970, and which has occupied much of the last four years of my time. I am in the process of writing the comprehensive history of Bahamas Airways Limited – which many people remember as BAL – from its inception in 1936 to its disappearance in 1970.

I have pored over 34 years of Bahamian newspapers, talked to any number of fellow former employees and picked up as much information, and as many photographs as I could, from a variety of sources, but I still need help to make the book complete and bring its pages to life. I would be happy to hear from anyone who has anything to share, about any aspect of Bahamas Airways – especially photographs, timetables, anecdotes.

My phone number is in the book (362-4727). My post office box is CB-11099. My email address is captaina@coralwave.com
