FOR the first time performing in the Bahamas, the Jamaican comedy show known as “Ity & The Fancy Cat” will be bringing nothing but a night of “real Jamaican laughter”.

The duo has been providing hot live comedy since 1992. They have remained fresh and relevant with their comedic acts in the form of adventurous and hot entertainment.

The duo is said to be an absolutely “must have” item on any stand-up comedy show schedule anywhere in Jamaica and the Caribbean. They have left audiences worldwide in fits of laughter, begging for more.

The fifth television season of the sketch comedy series “Ity and Fancy Cat Show”, featuring the comedy duo, was launched earlier this year at the Fiction Lounge in Kingston, Jamaica. The show is well known to Jamaicans inside and outside of the country.

On September 1, while Jamaicans continue their independence celebration of 50 years, the show will hit the shores of the Bahamas, at the Sheraton Nassau Resort, Cable Beach.

The show ill be a “you ga laff till ya belly buss” kind of experience, according to promoters, featuring acts such as The Fancy Cat, Rozah Roaz and the Country Helper.

“We connected with Ity and the Fancy Cat when we decided that we wanted to bring an act in celebration of Jamaican 50 years of independence. They were the perfect act worthy of this great celebration,” said Kathy Ingraham, director of Capital City Marketing.

She told Tribune Entertainment the show is rated PG, so everyone can come out and appreciate it. She said there will also be a surprise Bahamian comedy act. Mrs Ingraham added that Capital City Marketing is known for its presentation of drama and comedy shows in the Bahamas, remembering the successful run of “Oliver”, which was brought to the Bahamas for the first time over 10 years ago.

“Ity and Fancy Cat have enjoyed tremendous success, wooing Jamaican and Caribbean audiences in Jamaica and internationally for over a decade. The duo which hails from one of Jamaica’s inner city communities, Trench Town, made the obvious choice of a pathway to happiness through laughter,” said promoters.

“After dabbling with deejaying, the pair realized that their penchant for the funny stuff was more their calling. They first came to public notice in a Courts (Jamaica) Furniture advertising campaign, and continued over the years to hone their craft with numerous corporate and other engagements, such as the Caribbean leg of Who wants to be a Millionaire”.

The over two hour comedy show will be hosted by Owen “Blakka”Ellis, who himself is said to be a Jamaican comedy genius.
