THREE MEN MISSING AT SEA

Three men have been missing at sea since the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police did not release the names of the men, but according to reports the three men left the Montague Ramp on a fishing trip around 4am on Monday.

The men were on-board a white open hull 200-horse powered boat and were due to return between 5pm and 6pm, that same day. However, the men have not been seen or heard from, since.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding the location of the men to contact police at 919 or 328-TIPS. Family Island residents can contact police at 242-300-8476.

In other news, police have also taken a 29-year-old Jamaican man of Pinewood Gardens into police custody after he was found in possession of more than $60,000 worth of drugs at the nation’s airport.

He was arrested by Airport Police Station Officers around 12.30pm yesterday at the Bahamas Customs arrival section of the Lynden Pindling International Airport after he was found to be in possession of two and a half kilos of suspected cocaine.

Police estimated the drugs have a street value of $64,000.

Also yesterday, police confiscated two handguns along with a quantity of ammunition from bushes off Mason Street West.

Acting on information, officers went to that location where they discovered the items around 1.30pm but no arrest were made.

Active police investigations continue.
