Nation's coat of arms given to its designer

GOVERNOR-General Sir Arthur Foulkes presented a three-dimensional replica of the nation’s Coat of Arms to Hervis Bain in recognition for his involvement in its design.

Three-dimensional contoured shapes are a speciality of The Sign Man Co, a Bahamian sign design and fabrication company.

Mr Bain played a significant part in the final design. Other Bahamians involved were former Governor General Arthur Hanna, Harold Munnings and Baltron Bethel.

Also in attendance at the presentation were Sir Orville Turnquest, Sir Durward Knowles and Algernon Allen, all representing the One Bahamas Foundation, along with Peter Bates, general manager of the Sign Man.

The One Bahamas Foundation is organising the nation-wide “Walk for Unity in the Community”, which will be held on Saturday, November 17.

Everyone living in the Bahamas was urged to show their full support for the ideal of different peoples living together in harmony.
