THE Ministry of Social Services and Community Development confirmed last night that a 16-year-old inmate of the Williemae Pratt Centre for Girls attempted to commit suicide.
The incident reportedly occurred around 9am on Sunday.
According to the Ministry, she was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital and later transferred to the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre.
“She will remain at Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre until her condition is stabilised. Family members have been informed of her condition,” the statement said.
No more details were available before press time last night.
