Duo gunned down victim

A 22-year-old man became the country’s latest murder victim when he was shot multiple times late Wednesday night.

It happened around 11pm in the area of Third Street just north of Coconut Grove.

Police say the victim, who sources identify as Dino Saint, was walking with a 17-year-old boy when they were approached by two men in a white Honda Accord.

The occupants fired at the men resulting in Saint being shot in his upper chest and neck. He died at the scene.

The teenager was shot in the leg and was taken to hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Moments after the shooting, acting on information, police arrested a 28-year-old man at his Yellow Elder residence in connection with this matter. Police also found a handgun with a quantity of ammunition in the suspect’s possession.

A second suspect, a 21-year-old Yellow Elder man, was arrested early Thursday morning in connection with this killing. Police also recovered two firearms.

According to the Officer in Charge of the Central Detective Unit, Paul Rolle, this latest murder marks 110 for the year.
