'Die' Stubbs back in court

STEPHEN "Die" Stubbs returns to court today for the continuation of the case against him in which he is accused of conspiring to import $6 million worth of marijuana He is also accused of possession of the drugs.

It has been alleged that in 2009, 3,935 pounds of marijuana, imported from Jamaica, was dropped off in Williams Town, Exuma with the intention of supplying it to others.

Yesterday, the 37-year-old resident of Ridgeland Park denied having any involvement in the 2009 drug smuggling operation in Exuma, which was raided by police. He also denied evidence that he had known his co-accused Dion Minnis, 38, also known as Dion Rose, David Arlington Colebrooke, 51,

and Selva Rudolph Hudson, 57, who are all standing trial in connection with the major drug seizure.

It is claimed that Stubbs, between September 5 and 30, 2009, conspired with others to import and possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply in

Scott's Creek, Williams Town, Exuma. Up to yesterday trial evidence revealed that the 3,935 pounds of marijuana came from Jamaica and was dropped off in Williams Town.

According to testimony, Colebrooke, who was out on bail, but is now on the run, had brought a boat into Nassau where police were waiting to arrest him, having used wire tap methods to catch the alleged drug dealer in the act.

Colebrooke was reportedly meeting up with Minnis and "Die" Stubbs.

Hudson was arrested in the area of the drugs after police found a GPS (global positioning system), which had been left in the car by Colebrook after he got off the boat. The police examined the tracking system and through it were led to the drugs - $5,902,000 worth of marijuana.

Yesterday, Stubbs under cross-examination, denied the trial evidence. When suggestions were put to him that he knew his co-defendants, he denied knowing any of them.

Stubbs is represented by lawyer Murrio Ducille.
