THE TOP four seeds in the Bahamas Flag Football League are all set to face off this weekend with a trip to the fourth annual championship game on the line.

In Sunday’s semifinals at the Winton rugby field, division winners take on second place finishers while, in the women’s league, a pair of new teams face last year’s groups to claim the first women’s title.

In the Atlantic Division, the Heineken Spartans are slated to face the Go Green Predators at 4:30pm.

The Predators advanced to the semifinals with a 26-3 win over the Green Parrot Hitmen, while the Spartans received an automatic bye to the semifinals.

The teams met two weeks ago in the final game of the regular season with the Spartans taking a 9-6 win, reminiscent of the opening week of the season when the Spartans won 7-6.

In the last playoff meeting between the two, the 2011 semifinals, the Predators pulled off an upset win to advance to the championship game.

The Spartans will be looking to exact revenge from last year’s loss while the Predators will be looking to get their offense on track after scoring just 12 points in the last two meetings combined.

In the Coastal Division, the defending champion Odyssey Ravens take on the RBC Lions in the second semifinal at 5:30pm.

The Lions advanced with a 25-6 win over first-year upstarts, the Pirates, in round one of the playoffs while the Ravens received a bye.

In week five, RBC handed Odyssey its lone loss of the season by a two- point margin, 8-6. The Ravens rebounded in week nine with a 14-13 win to make the combined point total in both contests thus far 21-20 in favour of the Lions.

In the women’s league, the Lady Raiders clinched the final playoff spot last week with a 6-4 win over the Femme Fatale Predators. They advanced to face the top seeded G-Fit Pink Foxes at 2:30pm.

In week one, the Pink Foxes made a bold statement as the team to beat with a 33-6 blowout win over the Lady Raiders.

In the second meeting, the highest scoring team in the league posted a lopsided 30-0 shutout.

In the other semifinal, Lynx will face the second ranked Heineken Lady Spartans at 1:30pm. The Spartans have won both previous meetings between the two, 6-0 the first game and 18-6 in the second.
