Police investigate burglaries

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving two burglaries which occurred on Monday.

The first incident reportedly occurred around 2:30 am at home in Sea Breeze and resulted in a 32 year old male being shot.

The second incident reportedly around 3:00 am at a home on Bacardi Road and resulted in a 38 year old male being shot.

Initial police reports indicate that in each incident the occupants of the home were awaken by noises and subsequently confronted by two men.

Both people are detained in hospital in stable condition.

CRIMINALS are always looking for a quick opportunity to snatch and go, avoiding homeowners along the way. By taking the following precautions you can minimize or even prevent your home from being broken into.

• Ensure that all doors and windows are properly secured with a good quality dead bolt.

• Remove bushes and shrubs from around your home

• Install an alarm system

• Establish an active Neighbourhood Watch Association

• Etch your initials on all equipment (T.V’s, iPods, cell phones, laptops, etc.)
