IT WAS mostly all quiet on the crime front on Independence day, according to police.
Apart from an arrest for an illegal handgun, serious incidences on the streets of New Providence were kept to a minimum, police said.
Meantime, the police expanded its full-time force with the promotion of 269 reserve officers “in accordance with Article 119(5) of the Constitution and after consultation with the Police Promotion Board and the Commissioner of Police,” a police press release said.
Eighty-one Corporals were promoted to the rank of Sergeant while one 188 Constables were promoted to the rank of Corporal, the release said.
The police force also promoted 98 Reserve Senior Officers “in accordance with Article 119(3) of the Constitution and on the advice of the Police Service Commission and His Excellency The Governor General”, while 20 Assistant Superintendents were promoted to the rank of Superintendent, 26 Inspectors to Assistant Superintendent and 52 Sergeants to Inspectors, according to the release.
“Police wish to inform that the effective date of the promotion is from 1 July, 2012,” the release said.

So much to report about our 39th and this is what The Tribune serves up to its readers. Strange that The Tribune has been so silent about our 39th, as if it never took place.
But they sure know how make room for Comrade "Five Piece Chicken" Charlie's attacks on PM Christie and even on the "new" Hubert A.
Now that the red shirts done gone you'd think they'd stop stroking their utter resentment for anything PM Christie?

YEAH 39TH ,,,NOW WHO PRODUCE THAT SHOW AT THE PARK ..IT WAS AWFUL ..THE STAGE WITH THE ENTERTAINERS WAS TOO FAR AWAY FROM THE CROWD ,WHEN THE PERFORMERS WHERE ON THE FEILD THE LIGHTING WAS HORRIBLE ,IT BASICALLY LOOKED LIKE CHILDREN RUNNING AROUND ON THE PLAYGROUND ,,THE MC WASN,T GOOD ,AND THEN VISAGE ,,,,,,,,,,,THE POLICE ,DEFENCE FORCE WERE EXCELLENT !!!!!!!!!!!! THE REST OF IT WAS PURE AMAUTER HOUR
