Listening children

By Allison Miller

This was just too pericous not to share. On Sunday past I took my three year old nephew to church with me. He did really well because it was the 7.45 am service. He got up on his own, which was good for a non school morning. Of course he was figity and playing with his fingers, which did not stop him from listening to what was being said. To my supprise while the preacher was preaching - he uses the word God a lot to make his point - my nephew while playing with his fingers and with no eye contact at all said, “Who is God auntie Allie?” I was so amazed that he was actually was paying attention. (Of course in our spare time I told him to the best of my knowledge.

Parents you cannot take for granted that your children are listening. It may seem as if they don’t pay you any mind but that is not always the case. This little boy sitting playing with his fingers who appears to be in his own world was listening to the preached word.
