FREEPORT – A Bahamian pilot made an emergency crash landing in Bimini after his aircraft developed engine trouble on Saturday afternoon.
According to the reports, the pilot, a 45-year-old resident of New Providence, was headed from Fort Lauderdale to New Providence with one male passenger onboard.
Asst Supt Loretta Mackey reported that police received reports that the aircraft had encountered engine difficulties and crash landed around 2.53pm at South Bimini.
She said the aircraft was extensively damaged, but the pilot and 34-year-old male passenger were not injured.
Investigations are continuing into the incident.
