This year’s camp is slated to run 9am to 1pm daily June 25 to July 27. It’s geared for boys and girls between the ages of five and 17.

The campers will be provided instructions in the sports of basketball, volleyball and soccer.

Smith, who runs a successful basketball programme for primary school girls at Carlton E Francis, said he has been extremely pleased with the growth and development of the camp.

“Last year, I got sick on the first day of the camp and had to be rushed to the hospital. I spent two weeks in the hospital but I was able to come out and help out the final two weeks,” Smith said.

Despite his absence, Smith said he had sufficient instructors on hand who were able to keep the camp going. He said he’s eager to get this year’s camp off the ground.
